How to get rid of white bugs on houseplants? This is a question that most people living in apartment environments face when caring for houseplants. A strong defense is the best way to fight white bugs. If you see white bugs on houseplants in your home, you can easily get rid of these pests with a few tricks and solutions.

Vacuuming insects

To get rid of white, tiny insects on houseplants, the best thing to do is to use a vacuum cleaner. You can use a vacuum cleaner hose to suck up whiteflies, but make sure that they don't come out of the vacuum cleaner bag.

Spraying water on plants to get rid of whiteflies

To do this, it's best to place the plant in the sink and spray it thoroughly. This will dislodge some of the insects and their eggs from the plant, and then inspect the leaves again.

Using sticky traps

You can use sticky tape to kill and trap whiteflies. Hang a piece of tape on the infected plant and then remove the larvae by trapping the insects.

Insecticidal soap spray

To spray insecticidal soap, it is best to use dishwashing detergent and pour the appropriate concentration of this solution into the spray bottle with water.

Using vinegar

To trap whiteflies on houseplants you should pour vinegar into a glass container. Of course, the lid of the container should be plastic so that you can make a few holes in it. The hole on the lid of the container should be such that the insects are attracted to the vinegar in the container but cannot get out of it. To prevent insects from getting into the container and getting out again, it is better to make sure that there are holes on the sides of the container Place a sticky food such as peanut butter, which will prevent them from leaving the container and thus become trapped.

Preventing whiteflies  from entering the apartment

Usually, whiteflies can infect any green plant in the apartment, and of course, in hot conditions, we will see a high infestation of these insects on apartment plants. But how can we get rid of whiteflies on apartment plants is a topic that is very important to address. Therefore, to prevent whiteflies from entering the house, it is better to inspect the plants upon entering the house and at the very beginning, you should separate them from the previous plants.

 In the open air, spray neem oil on the plants. If you place them in a place in the house, check them constantly. Of course, in the summer, it is better to take the flowers outside so that the white insects can be trapped by the ladybugs. Again, after bringing the plants back home in the winter, use neem oil spray. Of course, you can plant mint, sage, and coriander next to these plants because the smell of these plants prevents these small white insects from nesting on houseplants.
