How to keep flowers fresh and beautiful

Choosing the right blooms can make a significant difference in how long your bouquet will last, but the lifespan of your vase depends heavily on how you care for it. To ensure that your bouquet is as fresh and beautiful as possible, check out these tips:

Clean the stems first

Before placing the flowers in a clean container, be sure to clean the stems to remove any dirt that can make the water slimy. Remove any visible wilted leaves, as well as the lower leaves, this will prevent the foliage from rotting in the water. Also, don't forget to remove the plastic and cellophane covering on the flower as it causes the leaves to sweat and as a result the flower starts to wilt.

Cut the stems carefully

Flowers rely on water to stay fresh and vibrant. By cutting the stems of your flowers at least two centimeters, you can help your blooms reach their petals and leaves more easily. This will extend their life.

Use a vase to store your flowers

In our flower buying guide, we would like to remind you that you should put your flowers in a clean container and add fresh water to it. To keep your flowers fresh and last longer, place them in a vase filled with fresh, clean water. Additionally, always use a clean container to reduce the risk of bacteria and other microorganisms ruining the beauty and freshness of your flowers. Choose a container with a wide enough top to easily fit over the stem of the flower. Don't forget to clean your vase with soap and water before placing the flowers.

Control the ambient temperature

If you store your blooms in a cool place in your home, they will stay fresh for days. Avoid placing them in a warm room or near a sunny window. To keep them cool, you can refrigerate your flowers overnight and then put them back on the table during the day.
