Economic analysis of rose and maryam cultivation in a greenhouse in Khuzestan province and providing appropriate solutions
The technology of producing greenhouse products has led to a significant increase in the efficiency of the use of limited water and soil resources, and its importance is undeniable, given the dry and low-rainfall climate of most parts of our country. Given the high costs of greenhouse construction, it seems necessary to conduct research in the field of finding appropriate and accurate economic solutions and publishing them. To achieve this and for the economic analysis of greenhouse products in Khuzestan Province, 80 greenhouses with wooden structures and metal bases dedicated to the cultivation of roses and marynamomums have been considered. The required information was collected through questionnaires and interviews with greenhouse owners, as well as information available in the provincial Agricultural Jihad Organization. The results of the study show that the benefit-cost ratio for greenhouse cultivation of these two products is 1.89, which indicates that the cultivation of these two products in greenhouses in the province is economically beneficial. The average current costs of income and gross profit in the flower and ornamental plant greenhouses under study are 1,199,630, 2,972,982, and 1,735,378 Tomans per 1,000 square meters. The highest percentage of current costs is related to employee salaries with 68.69%, followed by the cost of cuttings and bulbs with 16.68%. The average yield of < Roses and Marigolds produce 1661/08 and 151513/17 branches per 1000 square meters, respectively. Considering the lower income in small greenhouses compared to medium and large greenhouses, better management and the use of higher quality inputs can be implemented, and as a result, income in these greenhouses can be increased.
